For more than 20 years I worked in the casino business, 12 of which I spent in South America but I have outgrown that industry and I searched for other opportunities elsewhere. During this time I decided to move to Poland to live closer to my wife and kid who still goes to school. I simply wanted to be closer to my family and live somewhere where it felt more like home.

Moving was a decision I don’t regret at all. I love Krakow! It’s one of my favorite places to be. Most people are respectful, public transport is really well organized and the music scene is absolutely stellar. If you have never been here, I strongly recommend you to visit Krakow and experience it yourself.

Before I joined Wave Growth, you should know that I have no background in IT at all. It’s a brand new industry to me and it can be quite a challenge at times. Fortunately, that was exactly what I was looking for. To get out of my comfort zone and try something completely different and grasp new opportunities out there. I am happy to have joined Wave Growth. My colleagues are great and we work closely together. It actually feels a bit like family albeit a crazy family at times, in the positive sense of course.

Our job can be extremely challenging which is not uncommon in this industry, but we are surrounded by industry experts and have access to many resources which we can rely on. You’re never far away from someone who is able and willing to give you an answer on questions you might have which in itself makes for a very collaborative environment.

One thing that I learned in my role is that you will need to find a way to deal with the fact there’s sometimes a lack of transparency. Often, companies are not able to give the client exactly what they were expecting when it comes to software development. There is a better way of doing it and that’s exactly what makes working at Wave Growth so interesting since we have a unique process to deal with this in a professional way and meeting the client’s expectations 100%.

To achieve this a lot of work is involved and patience is essential, but once we do the rewards are amazing and you really feel you made an impact and you go home feeling great.

When you decide to join Wave Growth I can only say that you need to be prepared to work hard and the rewards will come. You will work in an international team of people who all share the same vision and are on the same page. You can always count on someone who will help you with whatever problem you might face. Aside from that, there are plenty of opportunities that enable you to grow and I strongly recommend to take every opportunity they give you.

When I leave the office, I enjoy doing various activities such as going to the gym, visit live concerts, playing the piano or just watching a movie at the cinema. In a previous life, I was aiming to write and direct my own films but that hasn’t happened (yet), but I still have my scripts and it’s still a small passion of mine.
